Martin Silveira, Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Martin oversees all functions of APR Energy including Commercial, Engineering, Operations, Legal, IT, HR and Finance. He has over 15 years’ experience in the energy and manufacturing sectors. Before taking over as Chief Operating Officer, Martin was responsible for all APR Energy power plants globally, including mobilizations, plant operations, demobilizations, and asset management. Martin began his career with APR Energy as a Plant Manager in Uruguay before moving to expanded corporate roles in Operations and Project Management and eventually his current executive role as COO. Before joining APR Energy, he held positions at Tacuarembó Renewable Energy, Glencore and ABInBev in Latin America. Martin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering as well as an MBA and Project Management Professional Certification.
Joseph DiCamillo, General Counsel
As General Counsel for APR Energy, Joseph DiCamillo leads all legal and government affairs functions and has served in GC roles for over 15 years. Joe has deep global experience in M&A, strategic alliances, commercial law, corporate governance, IP licensing, risk management, and regulated industries. Prior to joining APR Energy, he was Vice President and General Counsel at Studsvik AB, a Swedish publicly traded company in the nuclear energy industry. Joe is a graduate of Northwestern University and Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.
James Zheng, VP, Finance & Tax
As VP of Finance & Tax, James Zheng oversees all finance operations for APR Energy. He is responsible for all APR accounting, tax, financial planning and analysis, and other financial operations. Prior to joining APR, he held several finance leadership roles at General Electric and American International Group. James began his career working in public accounting as an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP, New York. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, as well as an MBA in Finance & Accounting.
Damon Tohill, VP, Engineering & Construction
As the VP of Engineering & Construction, Damon Tohill leads the teams who design and build of each project at APR Energy. Since graduating from the University of Colorado with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Math, Damon has spent over 25 years in the power generation sector. Damon previously worked with Black & Veatch, US Utilities, and AES. Using his experience gained through key roles on large power projects and successful transitions from conventional to renewable with these industry leaders, APR brings solutions with a proven project delivery strategy. Damon is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Kansas and Hawaii and has an MBA from Hawaii Pacific University.
Alicia Unsen, Director of Human Resources
Alicia Unsen, Director of Human Resources at APR Energy, brings over 15 years of diverse experience to her role. Leading key initiatives in recruitment, staff engagement, benefits administration, and human capital planning, she plays a vital role in the company’s growth. With a degree in Human Resources Management from Keiser University, Alicia’s commitment to excellence is evident in her continuous learning and development efforts. Alicia started her career in supply chain management and accounting before transitioning into the field of human resources.
Senior Leaders
Philip Herold, Business Development Director
Philip Herold has held senior positions in power development and energy risk-management for over 20 years both in public utilities and the private sector. He started his career with Southern Energy International, and thereafter worked with MEAG Power. In addition, Philip was responsible for all energy globally for Exide Technologies. He has extensive professional experience in Latin America and the Caribbean. Philip attended Loyola University of Chicago and The Graduate School of International Studies at The University of Denver.
Josef Skoldeberg, Global Head, Corporate Affairs
Josef Skoldeberg oversees government engagement, public policy, and marketing for APR Energy. Josef has over 15 years’ experience in the energy sector. He joined APR from General Electric where he managed global commercial advocacy across the energy, aviation, and healthcare sectors. Previously, he worked for the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) as head of external affairs for private sector energy and infrastructure lending. He holds degrees from the Stockholm School of Economics and University of Texas at Austin.
Christopher Haas, Senior Director, Supply Chain Management & Construction
Christopher Haas is the Senior Director of Supply Chain Management for APR Energy, leading the Supply Chain team in purchasing, logistics, and warehousing functions. Christopher brings over 20 years of global experience to the APR Energy team, having previously served as the Global Sourcing Leader for Zimmer Biomet, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing for Mac Papers & Packaging, and the Vice President of Supply Chain for NRG Energy, Inc. Christopher acquired his MBA in Finance from Indiana University, his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and is retired from his service as a Commander in the United States Navy.
Luis Ayerdi, Senior Director, Operations and Maintenance
As Operations and Maintenance Senior Director, Luis Ayerdi is responsible for the overall operations and performance of APR’s power plants, as well as maintaining the life cycle of all power generating assets. Luis started at APR Energy in Guatemala, working as Plant Manager. Luis holds Master’s degrees in Electrical Network Operations and in Business Administration, as well as certifications in Leadership Excellence at the Harvard Division of Continuing Education, and in Internal Auditing. He received his Electrical Engineering degree from Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
Matthew Polimeni, Senior Corporate Counsel
As Senior Corporate Counsel for APR Energy, Matthew Polimeni drives key corporate initiatives, advises Business Development, Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Human Resources on all risk and legal matters, and manages its litigations. Prior to joining APR Energy, Matthew was General Counsel and Chief of Staff for a global medical software provider with operations in the US, Canada, Europe, and APAC regions. Before joining the private sector, Matthew was an Assistant State Attorney and Division Chief for the Florida State Attorney’s office. He began his career as a police officer in the Jacksonville, Florida Sherriff’s office. Matthew is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and Florida Coastal School of Law.
