APR Energy supports the progress towards electrifying Africa!
APR Energy is attending Africa’s largest power conference, The Africa Energy Forum, to be held in Bordeaux, France from June 30 through July 2. The Africa Energy Forum (AEF) is Africa’s premier annual power and gas investment and business forum, allowing governments and state utilities to address the international energy community on opportunities in Africa’s power and gas sectors. Last year, the AEF attracted a record 480 delegates from 40 countries, including government ministers and 35 utility companies. These delegates present investment and business opportunities to leading international power developers, such as APR Energy, who is the leading provider of the most diverse and innovative temporary power generation solutions.
In a continent where no more than 20 percent of the rural population has direct access to electricity, the need for power is obvious. The World Economic Forum states, “Poor access to energy entrenches poverty, constrains the delivery of social services, limits opportunities for women, and erodes environmental sustainability.” The Africa Energy Forum is not only focusing on these present energy situations in Africa, but is looking towards the future. Key issues such as energy access for economic development, financing power expansion, restructuring and privatization of state-owned utilities, growth in the use of alternative fuels, and the risk and energy security will be addressed at the conference.
APR Energy is attending The Africa Energy Forum to work towards the common goal of providing power for the ultimate benefit of African industry, education, health, and agriculture. The AEF will allow members from each of these industries to address their colleagues and explain the processes that are needed to change for the power sector to fuel Africa’s development.
