APR Energy Hosts Charity Celebration in El Milagro
Trujillo, PERU - In the spirit of giving, APR Energy (APR) recently hosted a Holiday Celebration to benefit the children and families of El Milagro, Peru. This event was part of APR’s ongoing goal of giving back to the communities all over the globe, where its temporary power facilities are located.
Children between the ages of 4 and 9 years old along with their teachers and teachers’ assistants from seven local schools attended the Holiday Celebration, which took place at the Municipality of El Milagro Athletic Plaza. At the celebration, APR Energy donated a gift to each of the 300 children in attendance. Refreshments including cakes of panetón, a traditional holiday sweet bread native to Latin America, were served at the three- hour long Holiday Celebration which also featured a local entertainment troupe, all provided by APR Energy. Mayor Wilder Vasquez of the Municipality of El Milagro and other local government officials were also in attendance at the event.
“I am very pleased that APR has answered my request with such a positive attitude and could show its care for the community of El Milagro,” said Mayor Vasquez. “Every time I ask APR to help they are willing to do so.”
The Holiday Celebration was coordinated to benefit the families surrounding APR Energy’s Trujillo, Peru Power Facility. APR Energy’s Trujillo Power Facility commenced operation in July of 2009 and is currently contracted to supplement existing power for the government- owned national utility in Peru. The community of El Milagro is located approximately eight miles from APR Energy’s Trujillo Power Facility.
“As part of APR’s ongoing global Community Service Strategy we felt it was important to make this contribution to the local community during the Holiday Season.” said APR Energy Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Paul Marcroft. “We strive to continue to be good stewards of all the communities in which we operate.”
